Veronica Rojas was born in Mexico City in 1973 into a multi‑cultural family — her father Mexican and her mother Swedish — and lived in both Mexico and Sweden before coming to San Francisco. In 1995 she came to San Francisco to earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts at the San Francisco Art Institute, and she went on to receive her MFA from the California College of the Arts. She makes her home in Berkeley.
Veronica has shown her work nationally and internationally, including at the SFMOMA Artists Gallery and with the Bay Area Visual Artists Network. She is a Visual Aid Grant recipient and has been nominated for the Eureka Fellowship Grant and the Joan Mitchell Foundation Grant. Her paintings have been reviewed in Artforum and Latin Eyes.
